A new shoe store in Smiths Falls is already drawing strong reaction after months of planning, preparation and family pride.
Scott’s Shoes has opened in the former Smith Shoes location, bringing another family-run business into a space long known for local service.
Owner Nathan Scott says they certainly feel welcome.
Scott says the move is part of a long family story that began generations ago in Renfrew. The business was started by his great-grandfather and later carried on by his grandparents and parents.
Scott says he did explore options before returning to the family company in 2015.
Since then, Scott’s Shoes has expanded from Renfrew into Pembroke, Arnprior and now Smiths Falls.
Scott says the company is proud to bring strong service, good brands and competitive prices to town, while respecting the history of the former Smith Shoes business.
Scott’s Shoes is now open at 12 Beckwith Street North, the former home of Smiths Shoes, in Smiths Falls.
