Carleton Place council’s committee received a staff report on rink and pool user fee increases at their June 9th meeting.
New pool and ice rental rates would be in effect from September of this year to September of 2027.
User fees are collected to offset operational costs and to reduce the amount of tax dollars required to operate the pool and arena facilities. The capital maintenance costs of these facilities are funded through taxation.
The recommended hike was 2.5% for the pool and 3.5% for ice rentals.
The report also recommended re-instating the 2.4% credit card recovery fee for parks and recreation services.
Council’s committee approved the changes subject to a formal council vote.
