Lanark County residents are being asked to help shape the future of local transportation before a major planning document is finalized.
The county is gathering public input as it develops a new Transportation Master Plan, also known as a TMP. The plan is meant to guide decisions on roads, traffic, active transportation, growth and other transportation needs across Lanark County in the years ahead.
A public information centre is planned for Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the Carleton Place Farmer’s Market. The drop-in session runs from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Market Square, located at 7 Beckwith Street in Carleton Place.
County officials say residents will be able to discuss transportation-related needs and priorities, while also helping confirm the vision and goals for the new plan.
The session will also include information about a new roundabout planned for McNeely Avenue at Lake Avenue. Construction on that project is expected in 2027.
The county says public feedback is an important part of the process, especially as local communities continue to grow and traffic patterns change.
Residents who cannot attend in person will still have a chance to take part. An online survey and detailed project presentation on the Transportation Master Plan are available from June 15 to July 12, 2026.
More information is available through the public consultation section of the Lanark County website.
The county says the goal is to hear directly from residents about what is working, what needs improvement and what priorities should guide transportation planning in the future.
