The Royal Canadian Legion in Smiths Falls is opening its doors to help residents cool down during the hot weather.
Peggy Tye-Bernicky, office administrator with the Legion, says the branch is available as a cooling station for anyone who needs a break from the heat.
Tye-Bernicky says the space is open to the public and is meant to provide relief for people who may be struggling in the heat, including those without air conditioning or those living in apartments that become too warm.
That includes families who need a break from the heat too.
That means residents do not need to be Legion members to use the space and cool down.
