From now until December 24th, The Carleton Place library is taking donations for the Lanark County Food Bank – The Hunger Stop, in exchange for fines.
You can bring a non-perishable item into the library and they’ll reduce your library fines by $2 per item.
Just bring your donation to the front desk when you arrive, and they’ll tally it up for you.
An important reminder: they’re taking non-perishable food, hygienic items, and baby supplies. They can’t accept fresh food donations.
Here’s what they’re looking for:
- Juice (family-sized or single-serve tetra packs — 100% juice preferred)
- Jam or Honey
- Coffee (instant and ground) & Tea
- Coffee Whitener
- Toilet Paper
- Hygiene items – soap, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, tampons, etc.
- Hamburger/Tuna Helper
- Diapers — especially 4T & 5T Pullups
- Baby food
- Pantry items – cake/pudding mix, condiments, seasonings, sugar, flour, salsa, cereal, sidekicks, baked beans, tomato soup, canned stew, canned salmon, gluten-free pasta & cereal
