Second to last week of the Build a Mountain of Food Campaign sees donors make a difference

It was another great weekend for the Build a Mountain of Food Campaign, as it made stops in Portland and Merrickville.

In Portland 1,600 pounds of food was collected and just under $16,000 donated to the Portland Food Bank.

In Merrickville, donations were in support of the Merrickville Lions Club Christmas Food Hamper Campaign. A total of 1,500 pounds of food and just over $2,500 was donated to the cause.

This year’s edition wraps next week with stops in Athens and Delta.

Over the 15 years of the Build a Mountain Campaign, more than 1.9 million pounds of food and $1.4 million donated to the communities it serves.
