The province may have settled their labour issues with CUPE’s education workers, but there are still four major teachers’ unions that need a new deal.
So far, those unions have not revealed what they are proposing in negotiations or what the government has offered, a contrast to the approach taken by the union representing education workers.
The unions represent elementary and secondary teachers in the Upper Canada District School Board and the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario locally.
CUPE, which voted to accept their new deal, posted its proposals and government counteroffers publicly, while talking openly about back-and-forth salary negotiations for its 55,000 non-teacher employees in schools across the province.
