Carleton Place Council began this week’s session with a solemn remembrance in recognition of the murders of 14 women at École Polytechnique on December 6th, 1989.
Listen to Brian Turner’s report from the meeting below.
Councillors Dena Comley, Linda Seccaspina and Sarah Cavanagh read out each of the massacre victims’ names, concluding with “May they rest in Peace.”
Mayor Toby Randell urged anyone who requires help or who knows of someone at risk to reach out for help.
If you’re in a dangerous domestic situation, please don’t hesitate to call 9-1-1. You’ll be put in touch with services to help you, and anyone close to you like children, if need be.
