The Town of Carleton Place awarded its Citizen of the Year award on Saturday at their annual appreciation night.
The honour went to former town Councillor and long-time volunteer Gary Strike who has worked on a large number of projects over the years, most recently the annual Salvation Army Kettle Campaign.
Mr. Strike has always promoted the value of volunteers.
It was the first time they held the appreciation night in two years, thanks to a pandemic induced hiatus.
