Water rates in Carleton Place are proposed to rise next year and were on the table at council’s meeting on Tuesday night.
Citing an increase in salaries and contracted services’ costs, town treasurer Trisa McKonkey was recommending a 1.95% increase in water and sewer rates for next year.
This move would cost just under $19 more for the year for a residential property with 1 or 2 occupants.
The budget will be put up for public comment on Jan 10th before council’s vote.
