A local, annual charitable effort is falling short this holiday season.
The Salvation Army has put out an urgent request for volunteers to help with their Kettle Campaign, the only fundraiser they hold each year.
Major Laurie Reilly tells us last year they helped more than 600 families, and it will be even more this year.
And its the same in other communities too.
Reilly says its vital to their annual campaign, and for so many to have a Merry Christmas.
And she says its so easy that anyone can do it.
The local chapters are looking for help to cover 45 shifts at the kettles between now and Christmas. If you can help out please call Mary Lynn or Jackie at 613-283-3563.
