If you’re dealing with a power outage, you can always keep food outside to keep it cool if the temperature is low enough. You’d like it to be around 2 or 3 degrees ideally. Most fridges keep your food at about 4 degrees.
Lots of people turn to the outside option in a pinch, but as we hear from our Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Linna Li, you’ve got to be careful of who may be looking for a meal out there.
Dr. Li suggests using coolers. You can use snow to fill them. Check them every so often to make sure everything is cool and secure.
