Police in Smiths Falls have released some information about two Intimate Partner Violence (or IPV) cases in the town from early this month.
The first came on December 6th when they were called to a Beckwith Street North home for a report of an incident.
A 52-year-old from Smiths Falls is suspected of choking and assaulting a female victim. The suspected was arrested and held for a bail hearing.
Also on December 6th, police arrested a 38-year-old man from Delta accused of assaulting his former common law partner during argument at the victim’s residence.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect had also assaulted the victim on several other previous occasions.
That man was charged and also held for a bail hearing.
