This week is National Non-Smoking Week and the Health Unit is offering help to anyone who wants to quit.
Public Health Nurse Debbie McIntyre says it may take many tries to quit, but every one of them is a step in the right direction.
McIntyre says nicotine replacements like gum or lozenges, can help with the cravings when you’re trying to quit, as cravings are often the hardest part.
Debunking myths around smoking is also a part of this weeks goal, including the idea that smoking relaxes you.
McIntyre says it actually does the exact opposite.
