The Town of Perth approved its 2023 budget on Tuesday night.
The municipal property tax rate will see an effective increase of 5% and the water/sewer bill will rise 11%. This means $190 more for a home assessed at Perth’s median value of $248K.
Councillor Isabel Anne McRae remarked on the challenges that the town faces with inflation and escalating costs and reminded everyone that there was payment assistance available.
McRae noted that Perth has a tax payment plan in place to work with people facing their own financial challenges.
