The Ford Government unveiled its Plan for Connected and Convenient Care earlier this month, making many promises to improve the beleaguered health care system in the province.
We spoke with MPP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes Steve Clark about one of the biggest shortcomings in the province – staffing.
They plan to address the issue in many ways including getting foreign trained health professionals up and running in Ontario quicker.
They have challenged the colleges overseeing them to accelerate that process.
The government is also looking at options such as, paying doctors to stay in small towns where they train, offering incentives to get educated in the sector, and offering more training for paramedics.
You can listen to the entire conversation with Mr. Clark below.
