The OPP are issuing a reminder to drivers to renew their license and vehicle registration as the Automated Licence Plate Recognition, or ALPR, system rolls out province-wide.
The ALPR has been on the roads in select cruisers for the past few years but is now more widespread.
In a video posted to social media, OPP Sergeant Kerry Schmidt reminds everyone there’s no cost for renewals.
Schmidt asked his partner Constable Sammy Nasser of his first impressions of the system
Over the course of a 20 minute stop with the ALPR 32 infractions were flagged.
