Over $26,000 was raised for the Craig family from during last night’s #doit4Craiger fundraising hockey game between the Smiths Falls Bears and Ottawa Senators Alumni.
Supporters packed the Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre to support Chris Craig’s liver transplant journey and his family, as he battles with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC).
Connor Craig, the captain for the Jr. B Bears and son to Chris and Bobbi-Jo Craig, took to the ice and came away with a goal and even a good-natured fight shortly after.
After the game, he described what this period of his life’s been like.
Craig also walked Lake 88 through his beautiful goal, and the thought process leading up to it.
When it came to the “fight” with Brad Brown which came in the following shift after his goal, Craig said it was an idea mentioned earlier in the game, but he had his priorities straight.
Chris and Bobbi-Jo Craig were able to watch the charity game in Toronto hospital courtesy of a livestream while Chris awaits a donor.

The winner of the evening’s 50/50 draw donated their $1,610 in winnings back to the Craig family which ultimately increased the total to $26,175 raised.
The Sens alumni featured many fan favourites including Chris Phillips, Jesse Winchester, and former Smiths Falls Bear Jason York.
The Senators alumni won the game itself 9-5, but never has a final score meant so little.
