Ontario NDP’s are imploring the Doug Ford government to take a hardline approach in tackling Intimate Partner Violence, or IPV.
86 recommendations were made to do so following a 2015 inquest after the murder of Carol Culleton, Anastasia Kuzyk and Nathalie Warmerdamn in Renfrew County.
Last Friday, NDP Women’s Issues critic Jill Andrew called for change.
Ontario NDP Leader Marit Stiles called IPV a public health crisis, and is demanding the provincial government take a hardline approach and concrete actions towards change.
Erin Lee of Lanark County Interval House said IPV is all too prevalent in rural communities.
The NDP want to see the Conservatives pass all recommendations under provincial jurisdiction which came from the 2015 Renfrew County inquest.
