Today is Pink Shirt Day – a day to wear pink to raise awareness for anti-bullying efforts.
Gwendy Lapp, a Health Promoter with the Health Unit says parents don’t always catch on that their kids are being affected.
Things to watch for if you’re concerned your child may be getting bullied are low self-esteem, appearing anxious, fearful or distressed, avoiding certain situations or declining performance in school.
Our Medical Officer of Health Dr. Linna Li says every case is different.
The Dr. Says communication is key. Make sure you’re talking with your kids about bullying and they know its safe to tell you when something happens.
