Big Brothers Big Sisters Lanark County raised over $75,000 during their 43rd annual bowl for kids event.
They surpassed their goal of $70,000 and eclipsed their total from a year ago.
Executive Director Jennifer Miller says it’s a humbling experience that the community shows up for them year in and year out.
The traditional thought people have of the program is the one-on-one peer mentorship programs, but Jennifer Miller says they’ve grown over the years to fill the gaps they’ve identified throughout the county.
Miller says the single fundraiser makes up for 20% of their annual budget.
