Lanark Lodge recently celebrated the opening of the Maples Butterfly Home Round Room with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The room’s part of a new initiative based on a model of care stemming from the work of UK-based Dementia Care Matters.
The Butterfly Model focuses on delivering emotion-focused care that connects with people in a dignified, human way.
The room is set to host residents, families and team members in a café- and spa-like setting with the goal of providing a space for many moments of joy and connection.
Various local dignitaries were on hand for the opening.
