A protest in Perth last weekend was among many, that saw participants disagreeing with RBC’s funding of fossil fuels.
More than 40 such protests took place, with those attending angry that RBC has contributed more than $260 billion into fossil fuels since the Paris climate agreement was signed in 2015. No one in Canada has contributed more.
About two dozen people turned up to the Perth RBC to let their feelings known.
They’re hoping RBC will do what several other banks and insurance companies have done, and stop investments in fossil fuels right away.
RBC says it is encouraging green solutions, while helping clients reduce their emissions.
