The Smiths Falls Bears took a 2-0 series lead in the Bogart Cup with a 1-0 overtime win over the Ottawa Junior Senators Sunday night in front of 680 hockey fans.
CCHL MVP, Bears captain, and Mercyhurst University commit Sean James scored the winning tally, after the puck bounced off the boards into the slot, where James was left wide open as he fired it past Rorke Applebee.
James now leads the league with 17 points including three game winning goals this postseason, three points clear of teammate Riley Thompson who sits second.
Bears netminder Will McEvoy recorded his fourth shutout of the postseason, making 30 saves.
