April is Be-A-Donor Month as it serves a reminder of the importance of organ donation.
Mary Pressley Vyas is an organ donor advocate and says you must make it clear to those around you that you are a donor after you sign up.
People die waiting for the help they need from living or deceased donors, something Vyas says can be stopped.
There’s currently 1,280 Ontario residents with an end-stage disease waiting for an organ, including 24 children and 53 people between the ages of 18-30. T
here’s been 137 organ donations in 2023 to date from both deceased and living donors.
