It may not have felt like it, but it was “a pretty average winter,” at least in terms of snow removal.
Director of Public Works Terry McCann recapped the winter season at the latest committee meeting.
McCann highlighted the cost associated with ensuring the roads are safe to travel on.
County staff put in 5,010 hours of snow removal work, higher than the five-year average of 4,878. Contracted workers worked below their average of 2,408 hours with 2,253.
