A proposed play structure design for Victoria Park
It’s exciting news for children and families in Smiths Falls: The new playgrounds will soon be here.
Director of community services Stephanie Clark provided a brief update in the process regarding the installation of the play structures council purchased last spring.
Last spring, council awarded a $250,000 contract to remove the old playground equipment and replace it with modernized ones, the designs of which were voted on by almost 1,100 people.
The old structure at Victoria Park was also torn down Thursday.
It was boarded up but Clark says staff’s noticed children still playing on it, so they’re tearing it down entirely in the interest of public safety.
