The Special Investigations Unit has closed a case against Kingston Police officers involved in the arrest of a man for impaired driving.
On January 22nd officers made the stop in the area of Division and Johnson Streets.
The 22 year old accused resisted arrest and officers struck the man several times and used a conducted energy weapon, eventually breaking his jaw.
A loaded hand gun was also found in the accused male’s waistband.
The SIU investigation determined the three officers did not use excessive force and cleared them of any potential criminal charges.
