The life preserver has been stolen at Murphy Park in Smiths Falls.
Director of Community Services Stephanie Clark says they have the culprits on camera, and the thieves are putting peoples lives at risk.
Clark says staff will continue to replace them because they deem it a necessity to have, but they aren’t cheap. She says a quality one goes for a couple hundred dollars.
Clark says they’re adding signage around the area for the replacement, and as a warning.
They’ll be posting additional signage around the area to inform residents on who to call if the future life rings aren’t there.
