The 2023 Perth and District Sports Hall of Fame Ceremony is taking place Sunday.
Lake 88 is highlighting this year’s class leading up to the induction.
Edmund Butler Code was the first Glen Tay Block Race winner in 1907, before switching to coaching a few years later after an illness.
Board chair of the hall of fame Tim Zander says his career on the sidelines at Perth Collegiate Institute brought success, and his induction in the builder category.
Zander adds Code’s contributions expanded past the high school highways.
The induction ceremony emceed by Dave White takes place at the Perth Legion at 1pm Sunday. Admission is free but donations are appreciated.
