Smiths Falls man charged for allegedly assaulting sister

A 65-year-old Smiths Falls man has been charged after allegedly assaulting his sister with a weapon.

Police say the incident occurred on May 24th at a William Street East resident.

It was then they learned a verbal dispute occurred between the man and his sister, with the male assaulting his sister with what SFPS call a “weapon of opportunity.”

He was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and was later released.
