Multiple media outlets are reporting 57-year-old billionaire Michael Andlauer has won the bid for the Ottawa Senators.
Andlauer sits on the NHL Board of Governors, owns a 10% stake in the Montreal Canadiens, as well as the OHL Hamilton Bulldogs.
Andlauer will sell his stake in the Canadiens as part of the deal, which is reportedly worth $950 million USD.
The sale of the Senators was drawn out much longer than most pundits anticipated since being put on the market by Eugene Melnyk’s family in November, but now appears to have reached the finish line.
