We continue our look at each recommendation made by the Culleton, Kuzyk & Warmerdam inquest into ending intimate partner violence (or IPV) in Ontario.
Today we look at number 35 which says the government of Ontario has to adress barriers and create opportunities and pathways to services for IPV perpetrators that can be accessed in the community.
Lanark County Interval House Executive Director Erin Lee says making services required with some voluntary components will go a long way.
Lee adds doing this is part of the overall quest for justice for the victims in these cases. She says referrals to service for perpetrators must be made right away, and often.
You can listen to the full conversation about the recommendation where Erin goes into greater detail on how that can be achieved by pressing play on the player below.
