We continue our look at each recommendation made by the Culleton, Kuzyk & Warmerdam inquest into ending intimate partner violence (or IPV) in Ontario.
Today we look at number 37 which says, as new services are funded, they must include aims and outcomes associated with building an underlying network of specialized services to address IPV perpetration and developing messaging around its availability.
Lanark County Interval House Executive Director Erin Lee says a wide variety of options have to be on the table for perpetrators, including those they enroll in themselves.
Lee adds that discussions with the OPP about voluntary programs for offenders or alleged offenders been ongoing for years in Lanark County. She says these program could have a profound effect on the participants.
