Education Minister Introduces Regulations to Strengthen Core Subjects and Enhance Accountability in Schools

Ontario Minister of Education Stephen Lecce announced new regulations under The Better Schools and Student Outcomes Act.

These measures aim to strengthen core subjects like reading, writing, math, and STEM disciplines for students in the Upper Canada District School Board, Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario, and across the province.

The government will set binding priorities for school boards to focus on boosting student achievement in these areas in a move Lecce says aims to improve transparency, accountability, and safety while creating more opportunities for hiring qualified teachers to support student success.
