Smiths Falls council heard their first official update regarding the Confederation Bridge project since early April, when the design phase began.
Director of Public Works Paul McMunn briefly filled the horseshoe in on the progress made since council voted 4-3 to move ahead with a pedestrian-only bridge in January.
McMunn says the pace may feel slow but the environmental assessment is finalizing right now, noting they usually take quite some time to complete.
