It appears elementary school teachers in Ontario will be off the job once they are in a legal position to strike.
The Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario announced that 98 percent of its members gave their union a strike mandate in the event there is no agreement reached with the Province.
Local Bluewater President Julie Stanley says she doesn’t know how teachers in Grey Bruce voted but there was a definite consensus.
Stanley says the government is asking public school teachers to accept $150 Million in cuts, something that was not asked to other unions in the education sector.
She says parents should be aware that the ETFO are fighting against cuts that will greatly affect their children’s education.
