The stakes are higher than ever as OMVIC CEO Maureen Harquail reveals that a staggering 30 percent of online private car sales are orchestrated by unregistered dealers, leaving the public vulnerable to potential fraud and stolen vehicles.

With the growing threat of car theft, OMVIC’s Director of Enforcement, Sam Cosentino, emphasizes a critical point: individuals whose stolen cars are confiscated by the police will face significant challenges unless their chosen dealer is OMVIC registered.
