Summer beachgoers in Almonte, Rideau Ferry, and Brockville are being urged to exercise caution as the Leeds Grenville Lanark District Health Unit issues an advisory against beach use.
High levels of bacteria have been detected, prompting the cautionary notice that began on August 17, 2023.
The Health Unit is committed to informing swimmers about water suitability, although conditions can change.
It’s important to note that swimming in untreated water comes with inherent risks. For those concerned about beach water quality, weekly updates are provided throughout the summer months.
Stay informed and stay safe before you hit the waves!
