Lanark County had representation at last week’s Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference.
Municipal leaders use the AMO conference to bend the ear of provincial policy makers and make their case for funding and support for key issues in their respective communities.
Peter McLaren sits on the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus, and says they wanted to expand further on their idea last year around additional affordable housing, but their delegation didn’t happen.
On top of advocating for their own municipalities, county councillors came together to ask the province to make permanent the Mobile Crisis Response Team, which McLaren says has been a huge benefit to both residents and the OPP.
