Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario (STEO) and area school bus companies have reached a tentative agreement to provide steadfast student transportation services. With the upcoming school year just around the corner, this agreement sparks hope that students and their families can anticipate a safe and dependable ride to school from day one, which just happens to be next Tuesday.
The proposed four-year agreement not only gives STEO and the school bus companies with increased long-term certainty, but it also offers students and their families a reassuring sense of stability, assuring them that transportation services are locked in for the next four years.
As the details of accessing transportation information are being fine-tuned, students and families can look forward to receiving comprehensive updates once the tentative agreement garners approval and school bus routes are solidified.
Expressing gratitude for the patience exhibited by students and families during these deliberations, both STEO and the school bus companies are united in their message of appreciation. They extend warm wishes for a joyful last week of summer vacation, accompanied by the comforting knowledge that school buses are poised to roll when it’s time for children to step back into the classroom.
STEO CAO and GM Janet Murray said, “We are thrilled to have sealed this agreement with the school bus companies, cementing the positive relationships we’ve cultivated over the years. Throughout this process, the unwavering focus has been on meeting the needs of students and their families. Sharing this news with the families we serve fills us with delight.”
We will provide more updates as they become available.
