Lanark County has released a statement following the news they’ll be terminating their contract with Natural Connections, a licensed home child care agency which operates 11 child-care providers in the county.
Licensed home child-care providers are able to secure funding through the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care, or CWELCC stream so long as they maintain certain criteria.
CWELCC is a five-year plan being implemented in stages, with childcare fees eventually reduced to $10 per day.
In the media release, the county says the details of the contract termination “are confidential and will not be shared,” adding this CWELCC termination impacts Natural Connections only, and all other contracts are ongoing.
