It’s Hooray for Coaches Day here on Lake 88.
For nearly 25 years, Javier Ruano Valdez has been coaching tennis, a game he fell in love with at age seven.
For the past two summers, he’s been the pro at the Perth Tay Tennis Club, offering private and group lessons and most recently a summer camp.
He hammers home the importance of being a role model for those he coaches.
He said that’s what he had growing up, was a role model as a coach and it inspired him, and he feels it’s their job to pass that along.
He feels pride to know he’s doing just that.
