Today is Overdose Awareness Day in Canada.
Dr. Linna Li, our medical officer of health says its important for users to never use alone, and to be sure that they have a naloxone kit nearby – which can halt an overdose so you can get help.
She also says it can be tough to reach out for help.
The National Overdose Response Service has a hotline that can help users. If you plan to use alone, call them before you do. The number is 1-888-688-6677. You can learn more on their website, by clicking here.
