The Associations of Municipalities of Ontario conference took place in London recently and Peter McLaren was there representing both the county and Lanark Highlands.
The Reeve says on the municipal forefront their focus was infrastructure, and making their hopes known to the province.
One of the three delegations the township had surrounded updating the Lanark arena to get it up to code.
Lanark Highlands also hopes to secure a new fire hall in McDonalds Corners, as the current one is too small to even house firetrucks. McLaren thinks its location on top of a hill is quite dangerous as well.
Lastly, they hope to get some help in replacing a trio of truss bridges that will soon need it, after already self-financing the ongoing Clyde Forks bridge project.
