The Emergency Department at a hospital closer to home is open once again.
Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital closed their ER for a few hours this morning, and it had nothing to do with staffing.
They carried out a major power shutdown needed in the construction of the new state-of-the-art ER.
It’s a significant milestone as the new electrical grid is being activated.
The new Emergency Department will provide 11 treatment spaces, up from five in the old room.
Additionally, it will offer more parking, additional washrooms, and a private family room.
