The hunt is on for criminals who are stealing a bunch of telephone wires. They cut and steal the lines to get the copper wiring inside of them. They then trade that in for cash.
Details are scarce other than police saying suspects have cut and stolen telephone wires on several occasions from the Brooke Valley Road are in Tay Valley Township. That’s left residents in the area without a phone. Cell coverage in some of the affected areas is spotty at best. Many are worried about what the thefts could mean in an emergency situation. They wonder how they would call 9-1-1 if something tragic or dangerous was unfolding.
