There’s a development in the ongoing scandal that cost local MPP Steve Clark his cabinet position: the Ontario government says it plans to introduce a new law for the region soo.
New Housing Minister Paul Calandra, who replaced Clark, says the government wouldn’t support an N-D-P private member’s bill to return lands to the Greenbelt because the government will soon be introducing its own bill to do that.
This comes after Premier Doug Ford said last week that his government is reversing the decision about Greenbelt land removals.
Local municipalities are watching the situation closely, to see if there could be any implications for similarly zoned land in our region.
