We continue our weekly look at every recomendation made by the jury at the inquest into the deaths of Carol Culleton, Anastasia Kuzyk & Natalie Warmerdam, aimed at ending intimate partner violence (or IPV) in Ontario.
Number 47 says the province must set up an IPV Registry for repeat IPV offenders similar to the Sex Offender Information Registry Act registry.
This recommendation was rejected by the province largely because they say it duplicates much of the sex offender registry.
Lanark County Interval House Executive Director Erin Lee disagrees.
Lee adds while there are similarities, changes would have to be made for IPV offenders.
Lee who testified at the inquest says this registry should be one of the consequences.
You can listen to the complete talk with Erin about the recommendation below.
