The Emergency Departments at both sites of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital (PSFDH) continue to see an extremely high number of patients for respiratory illnesses.
This has resulted in the number of patients needing a bed currently exceeding the number of beds available. This inpatient pressure is occurring at both sites of the hospital.Please note that each patient coming to the Emergency Department is assessed by the PSFDH Health Care Team and the sickest patients are treated first. This means that some patients may experience a longer wait.
If you require immediate medical help, please call 9-1-1 and paramedics will assist and transport you to the nearest emergency department for care, if needed.For non-urgent health matters try your primary care provider, pharmacist or virtual care, where available.
